New Beginnings Nursery School

Our program has a Christ-centered curriculum and offers a variety of ways to help children ages 2 to 4 learn and grow through spiritual, physical, intellectual and social activities. Special programs in the past have included representatives from the Tarrytown Fire Department teaching the children about fire safety, and from The Nature of Things teaching children about different kinds of animals. Children take part in a Welcome Reception for all the school families, a Christmas pageant, an Easter program and a graduation ceremony. Various fund-raisers are held throughout the school year to help defray operating costs.

Our Staff

Our director is Patricia (Patty) Kreamer, who founded New Beginnings in 1996. She also teaches the Pre-K class. In addition to Patty, we have a staff of four teachers and three assistants, all dedicated Christians eager to share their love for the Lord with your child.

Parents are always welcome and encouraged to be part of their child's nursery school experience.

Our School

Our school provides a happy and caring atmosphere for your child. There are three classrooms, playground equipment and an indoor play area. We are located in the Reformed Church of the Tarrytowns annex, 42 North Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591.

Our Children

Any child from two to four years old is welcome in our program regardless of race or religious creed. To provide a pleasant and positive first school experience, children are encouraged, but not forced, to participate in each area. Two-year-olds can come two or three days a week, and 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds (Pre-K) have an option of coming four or five days a week.  All classes are three hours, 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

School Year 2016-2017

The school year opens with Orientation Day, Sept. 13, 2016, and closes June 14, 2017, the last day of school for all students.

9.00 a.m. Welcome: Free play, one-on-one skills building with teacher

9:45 a.m. Circle Time: Prayer, review of weather and day, review of the skill of the week (letter, shape, number, color), Bible story

10:15 a.m. Craft

10:30 a.m. Snack

11:00 a.m. Music/story

11:15 a.m. Gym time: Indoor/outdoor

12:00 Dismissal

2017 School Update

New Beginnings Nursery School has 36 students enrolled this year, says Director Patty Kreamer. In September, all teachers successfully completed a Red Cross training session. Also early in September, Sara Elder met with parents to welcome them to the Reformed Church, and to extend a welcome to them not just on school days but also on Sundays. On Nov 4, a more formal welcome ceremony was held in Ammerman Hall.
